As a contemporary painter based in Zürich, Switzerland, my artistic practice moves between the intimate depth of portraiture and the urgent reflection on HUMANITY and THE environmental dynamics of our time.

My portrait journey began as a child, when I received my first art table and spent hours drawing family members from our albums. Following this passion, I graduated as a painting major at the University of Delaware, where I had the opportunity to hone my skills through their acclaimed conservation program, reproducing master portraits. This experience paved the way for my continued development of these techniques that now inspire my body of work. I apply my process starting with the wood panels I build and prepare myself, then painting my subjects with sensitivity and luminosity through the complex layering of paint.

In my portraits, I do not limit myself to mere representation, but investigate the inner essence of the individuals I depict. Each brushstroke reveals the stories, emotions, and complex humanity that lies behind the gaze. Through detailed approach, I capture the vulnerability and strength of my models, creating works that resonate with empathy.

In parallel with my exploration of the human face, I dedicate a significant part of my artistic expression to modern themes. In the face of a changing world that seems surrounded by the robotic, we are thirsty for the real, the tactile, and even a recentering of our identity.  My painting thus become vehicles of awareness, addressing crucial issues such as the preservation and access to nature, our own personal growth when we place ourselves within a natural environment, and the impact that then has on our relationship to each other. My work invites the viewer to reflect on the world around us and on our role within it.

 

I aim to create an invitation to look beyond the surface, to ignite memories of our own personal stories and to look deeper into the stories of others, and through that develop a greater appreciation for the complex beauty of who we are and who we can be.

I currently reside in the canton of Zürich with my small and energetic family, including my husband, two children, and our dog. I specialize in commissioned portraits, working in both English and German.
